In 1996 Drivetrain Dynamics founder, Mike Maida got his hands on a Borg Warner T56 transmission. Service parts were not even available yet! Only complete production gear boxes found in Dodge Viper, Chevrolet Camaro, and Pontiac Firebird. This transmission was light years ahead of anything else available for the production or performance market. Having already blown up (4) T5 transmissions in a 1987 Firebird Formula... Something stronger was needed!

Prior to the T56 gearbox nearly every T5, T10, Muncie, Ford Toploader and Chrysler A833 transmission had met its demise when asked to handle any real power. So, utilizing all production 4th GEN Camaro components and custom in-house built crossmembers, we started converting 4 and 5 speed vehicles to T56 6speed gearboxes. Sparking the birth of DriveTrain Dynamics.

Since our humble beginnings, Drivetrain Dynamics crew has built over 4000 T56 and TR6060 gearboxes. We can convert any T56 production gearbox into TR6060 internals. We can build “out of production” Obsolete T56 from scratch. All units are designed to be plug and play and with very few, if any modifications to the existing components of the vehicle.

This means if you have already invested money into your flywheel, clutch, Bellhousing, driveshaft, crossmember and shifter it can all be reused with your new upgraded gearbox.

We also re-manufacture production manual gearboxes for most 3 - 4 - 5 - 6 and 7 speed vehicles. Our objective is to provide impeccable service while keeping the customer informed, educated and involved in the process. After we tear down and wash your gearbox, you will be provided with pictures of the damaged internals.
